The Battle of the Chosin Reservoir
Like You've NEVER Heard It Before!

On August 7, 1950, exactly eight years to the day after almost being wiped out on Guadalcanal, the 5th Marine Regiment was committed to battle in Korea.  Once again, the 5th Marine Regiment... the "First to Fight"... was almost wiped out.  I was there.  Some of what you are about to read may seem unimaginable but believe this, it all happened.  And it all happened to me."

"The first thing I saw when we offloaded at Pusan was South Korean officers interrogating a prisoner.  They laid him on a board stretched across two barrels and put a hose down his throat.  They were drowning the poor bastard.  After they got what it seemed they wanted out of the guy, they blew his brains out.  Just like that.  This guy's life was over.  His brains lay splattered on the floor of that filthy dock in Pusan.  Done.  I learned immediately that life was very cheap in Korea, and, from what I could see, all of Asia.  This was THE definition of a godforsaken place."
